About FireITM
FireITM is an independent directory and review site for fire & life-safety inspection software — the tools that fire-protection contractors use to run NFPA-compliant inspections of sprinklers, fire alarms, extinguishers, suppression systems, and backflow devices.
What "ITM" Means
ITM stands for Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance — the recurring work that keeps fire-protection systems code-compliant and ready to perform. Unlike most software purchases, ITM isn't optional: NFPA standards and local fire codes legally require these inspections on fixed schedules — water-based sprinkler systems quarterly and annually under NFPA 25, fire alarms under NFPA 72, kitchen suppression semi-annually, backflow assemblies annually, and so on. The contractors who do this work need software that mirrors those standards exactly and produces records an authority having jurisdiction will accept.
Our Mission
Our mission is simple: help fire ITM businesses choose the right software without wading through marketing copy. We publish honest, side-by-side comparisons of the major platforms, plus plain-English compliance guides that explain what NFPA standards and AHJs actually require. We measure every product against the same criteria and show our work on the methodology page.
Why a Neutral Directory Matters
Search for "best fire inspection software" today and nearly every result is published by a software vendor that ranks its own product first. There's almost no genuinely neutral, third-party information for buyers in this niche — and no single vendor will ever write an even-handed guide to the standards that govern the work, because doing so would mean describing competitors fairly. That's the gap FireITM fills: a vendor-neutral reference that holds every product to the same yardstick and pairs it with the compliance context buyers actually need. The demand is real and recurring, the buyers have budget, and until now the only voices in the room have been the sellers.
Who It's For
We primarily serve owners and operations managers at fire-protection inspection companies who are evaluating or switching software, along with facility and compliance managers researching what the standards require of them.
How We Stay Independent
FireITM is not owned by or affiliated with any software vendor. We use referral links and may earn a commission when you buy through them, but that never influences our ratings or rankings. For the full picture of how we evaluate software and how we make money, read our review methodology.
